Acetone is one of the most reduction solvents which composed of toxic and odor that makes it impractical to use in an occupied space. Most of the colors are applied once the floor has been polished.

Water based dye products provide lots of benefits to most users. These materials are commonly safe, odorless and effective once applied. If these are densified, hardened and polished, the water based stains will also create a translucent effect.

Now, the big question is what to use for your project. The answer lies and depends on you. If you have a new installation, any of the products can be used. If it is a restoration project, then you can only use water based dyes, acid stains or the colored densifiers.
