How Vinyl Wrapping May Benefit The New Ghostbusters

By Paula Hess

It's easy to see that the Ghostbusters series is one of the most unique entries in fiction. It has been able to integrate comedy with just a little bit of horror to create a series that just about anyone can get into. With that said, it's clear that there is quite a bit of attention that has been brought to the recently announced entry into the series. I have to wonder, with all of the news surrounding said movie, if the process of vinyl wrapping will be able to help it.

One of the reasons why the newly announced Ghostbusters movie drew so much attention is the presence of the all-female cast. All four of the Ghostbusters will be played by women, which is a first in the series, and each of them have been involved in Saturday Night Live. With this in mind, it's easy to see that the cast is capable, though it's clear that there are those who are detractors. I believe that a change like this requires a "wait and see" approach.

If you ask me, the Ghostbusters series worked so well because of the realism injected into it. The main heroes are not the model protagonists but rather working men, as they are tasked with helping individuals who can best be described as, "clients." A theme such as this will most likely be carried over into the latest movie. Of course, it'll have to be modified so that it's more modern. Advertising is crucial, though, and I believe that there are many ways to go about this.

I believe that the aforementioned idea of advertising can come about through the process of vinyl wrapping. Companies along the lines of JMR Graphics are not only able to design wraps, with several vehicles in mind, but apply them with quality intact. Keep in mind that wraps, for this particular movie, are going to have to feature certain elements. The cast that has been talked about earlier, as well as the Ghostbusters logo, will have to be prominently featured.

To say that the response to this movie has been mixed would be an understatement. I think that a film like this deserves a fair shot, seeing as how it's part of a series that is fondly loved by science fiction enthusiasts. Even though this film may not stack up to previous entries in the Ghostbusters series - nostalgia plays a part everyone's mindset, after all - there may still be value to be seen. It's just a matter of giving this new entry a chance.
