By Leslie Ball

Apparently there is need for people to know the forms of typecasting in sporting. You one sex being discriminated against due to the sex and not their inherent worth. Treatment of women in these activities is dissimilar to that of male. However, the discrimination is not based on abilities. It focuses mainly on the femininity. Outlined are the types of sexism in sports prevailing in the modern sphere.

You will find where women lack and there is male dominance. This is to say that women have no room in that particular activity. The best thing to do though is involving both genders. However, this is not happening. Women are discriminated against for some reasons. These include weakness, their sizes and their overall athletic ability. There should be no room for this kind of stereotyping.

There is no game that was made for a particular sexual characteristic. Referring women playing football and basketball as tomboys and lesbians has no justification. The finest thin to do is to view both characteristic equally. Nonetheless, they should be given equal chances to play a part. What one chooses to engage should be for own merit.

Media should instead practice to portray women athletes in a better way. In the name of corporate benefits they give them a weird coverage. They cover depict their looks and desirability instead for their virtues. They ought to be given coverage to show that they are good in what they are doing. For that matter they should be a weapon to fight prejudice seen in sporting in its place.

In the industry both genders make a lot of money. Still what male counterparts make much more money when a comparison is made. This is because they get endorsements from sponsoring companies leaving behind women. Despite their overwhelming performance no recognition is given to them. Being endorsed is light a dream to them. It is like they have no point to play.

Ninety nine percent of the games being aired are male dominated. This leaves the question on whether there are games played by ladies. Definitely the answer for that particular question is a yes. The biggest deterrent to women being viewed is the coverage. Most stations will cover what is performed by male and leave behind women. It is being a chauvinist.

Another nightmare form of machismo is in the refereeing. This is where men are given a priority to women in refereeing. Men are regarded as stringent and very effectual in this job. On the other hand, women are said to be less stringent and very ineffectual. This is total bias on one side. This also cuts across the salaries given to both parties.

Above are things forms of stereotypes against one gender seen in sporting today. These are the most rampant that are still seen in the current world. What people should do is to embrace change. They should give room for both parties to participate. And thus they should be no discrimination in any way.
