Can A Social Media Agency Help Amas On Reddit?

By Arthur Williams

Anyone who's been on Reddit, for any length of time, will be familiar with AMAs. Also known as "Ask Me Anything" threads, these are created for the purpose of celebrity interaction with said website's massive audience. To say that they have become popular would be an understatement, as they span all types of subject matter as well. However, in order for certain threads to be made even more popular, I believe that a social media agency can prove to be useful.

For those who aren't familiar with the "Ask Me Anything" threads on Reddit, these are designed for celebrities to interact with users, and vice versa. Essentially, Reddit users will be able to ask these men and women anything they want, as it relates to different topics. For example, a baseball player can answer questions about their future goals, before transitioning into what their favorite television shows are. In essence, just about anything is fair game.

Would it make sense for Reddit users to sign up for accounts, solely for the purpose of participating in AMAs? I believe this to be the case, especially when you think about the different selling points which various social media websites possess. Reddit must stand out from the pack, and it's not out of the question to believe that AMAs serve this purpose as well. With that said, it's prudent to note the rules and guidelines for different parties to follow.

With all of this said, you may be curious to know how a social media agency can play into things. As reputable firms such as fishbat can tell you, there is a tremendous degree of weight that goes into PR, which is even truer for celebrities. They must be able to conduct themselves in the best of ways, which isn't always the easiest of endeavors. However, with the proper authorities to help celebrities along, there will be a lesser chance of the wrong things being said in any AMA.

It's easy to see why AMAs have become so popular, in this day and age. They allow Reddit users to interact with celebrities, when they probably wouldn't have been able to otherwise, and the immediacy cannot be overlooked. However, those who take part in these conversations, answering questions on a regular basis, should drive as much awareness as possible. It's for this reason that I could see social media agencies becoming more involved in the future.
